Obsessed with your goals and vision!

As we approach Easter weekend, I couldn’t help but think of the impact the word RISE has had on me over the last year.

The word rise (RiZe) has been the foundation of the motto for the brand I am trying to build, in an effort to share and provide resources and tools that keep me in a beautiful state.

The word rise continues to wake me up at 3:00am every morning.

The word rise makes me think of Jesus falling while carrying the cross. He also rose three times while carrying the cross and ultimately his resurrection on Easter Sunday.

The word rise reminds me of my mother-in-law who has been battling cancer over the last 6 months. No matter how hard it got, she rose everyday and carried her cross. She had her last treatment this past week and continues to rise while she continues on her life journey.

The word rise reminds me of the still small voice in my head that revealed my purpose or ‘Legend’ as outlined in the book ‘The Alchemist’, while rising from an 8 minute plank. This voice revealed the creative gifts I used as a 12 year old, which was creating videos for my friends and family. Now with the advent of YouTube I can share my gifts with the world. In the spirit of Easter, this is the video I recently co-produced in March for my local church: Beyond the Walls – Crossroads Worship.

The word rise reminds me of the times my mother-in-law asked my wife and I to play Mary and Jesus at her church for the Church’s live Stations of the Cross play. She asked for a few years early on and we declined each time. Tomorrow, Good Friday, I am excited to say not only will my wife and I play Mary and Jesus, but our three children will be in the play as well as soldiers and one of the weeping woman in dedication to my mother-in-law’s courage.

No matter your faith, treat each day as a gift, as your own resurrection if you will; where no matter how good or bad the previous day went, there’s always a next day. If we realize that we’ve been given the gift that is life, that we’re able to start something new every day if we so desire, we would all live a more peaceful and beautiful life.

We have the opportunity to rise and restart every day … you can make a difference in not only your life but others as well.

The sun will rise. You will rise.

Have a safe and happy Easter! Godspeed!

  2. Very inspirational Joe, continued success in your mother-in-laws fight. God bless you, Sandy and your beautiful family. Love to all.

  3. I liked your story Joe. Very meaningful and at a perfect time. Easter is beautiful, the flowers are rising out of the ground and buds are coming out, grass is greener. We all get a chance to start again, rise from our sins, worries and winter drugeries. Another chance, start again and maybe with a better attitude towards life and family. Happy Easter.
